Mastoral by Alpha Pharma or Superdrol as it is more commonly known, is widely regarded as one of the most potent and exotic steroids on the market today. Methyldrostanolone, the active component in Mastoral is the 17aa version of the injectable steroid Drostanolone (Masteron). The extra methylation means Mastoral is approx 3 to 4 times more anabolic than Masteron, and slightly more anabolic than Oxydrolone (Anapolon). However, Dimethylation (the addition of two methyl groups to a molecule) means Mastoral is also more toxic on the liver than most other oral steroids.

In order to avoid any adverse effects on the liver it is very important to use a liver protecting supplement such as Milk Thistle while taking Mastoral. If Mastoral is being used with some kind of supplement to protect your liver, it should not be for any longer than 2 weeks, even with liver protection, Mastoral should never be taken for longer than 4 weeks.

Indications of compromised liver function include reduced appetite and general sickness, accompanied by yellowing of the eyes (jaundice), excessive itchiness and very dark urine. If these effects are noticed, the user should immediately cease taking Mastoral and seek the advice of a trained medical professional.

Although Mastoral is a DHT derivative and cannot convert to estrogen, some users have still reported gyno like symptoms during or after a cycle. This effect is likely related to the strong SHBG binding effect and the increase in freely circulating estrogen (and testosterone) from SHBG. Gyno symptoms may also be related to the fact that Methyldrostanolone lacks a strong DHT metabolite to antagonize the effects of estrogen, while also having a relatively low intrinsic androgenic value. However, its fairly low androgenic value means hair loss will not be a problem for most men, although those susceptible to male pattern baldness may still notice accelerated hair loss during a cycle.

Other reversible side effects from Methyldrostanolone may include increased blood pressure, reduced HDL cholesterol and lower back pumps.

In terms of gains, most users report their strength increases dramatically, nor is it uncommon for users to gain upwards of 20lbs from this incredibly potent compound. Although subcutaneous water gain would be minimal, intramuscular water retention should be expected. This is due to inhibition of 11b-hydroxylase and the build-up of mineral corticoids that encourage salt and water retention within the muscles. The most obvious physical effects will be improved vascularity, aggressive muscular pumps, and oily skin.
